About Me.
My name is Christopher Gay, and I am a career Fire Officer, Instructor, Emergency Manager, and Airport Manager. I am eager to contribute my knowledge, skills, and abilities to further your organizational goals and deliver effective results.
Leadership and Collaboration Experience:
Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in collaborating across various organizational levels and breaking down silos to foster effective teamwork. I have successfully partnered with stakeholders, outside agencies, business partners, and other groups to enhance operational performance, sustainability, and resilience. My leadership experience includes managing and directing teams in diverse settings such as operations centers, physical and virtual call centers, and high-risk, high-reward environments. I have also demonstrated my abilities in both program and project management. Notably, I have worked closely with stakeholders such as the TSA and FAA, as well as business partners including American Airlines, to ensure that operational performance consistently met established requirements. I strongly believe in encouraging the flow of innovative ideas from all levels of the organization, promoting both bottom-up and top-down communication. I recognize that multiple approaches can improve operational capabilities and the customer experience. By leveraging the knowledge and skills of team members on the ground, I strive to enhance both efficiency and resilience, especially within dynamic and evolving environments.
Continuing to Learn:
I believe continuous learning is key to organization and personal success. While I have earn numerous certificates, I am currently enrolled at the FEMA National Disaster & Emergency Management University completing the National Emergency Management Basic Academy, and the Level 1 Professional Continuity Practitioner Program; I’m also enrolled in the Cyber Security Certificate Program at Texas A&M University’s Texas Engineering Extension Service. I expect to have all that completed before December 2027.
Core Values and Approach:
I maintain that operational success is built upon clear and achievable goals and objectives, effective communication, strategic vision, and sound decision making. I value the role of empowered teams and believe that diversity of thought and strong relationships are essential in achieving lasting results. Relevant Experience and Career Goals
